Excellent service. Meals taste good but are a bit pricey. If you intend to use the hotel for an event, be ready to pay VAT, service charge, and CRS tourism levy. Public restrooms need to be upgraded. The pastry section sells nice and tasty pastries. The staff are courteous.
The hotel is old but maintenance isn't too bad. Sheets and towels are clean, housekeeping does a great job. Room service takes a while but the food is good. Breakfast is buffet and you can get meals that will serve you for the whole day from breakfast (rice, spaghetti, etc). No variety of teas though. Some of the staff really stood out - Mary from Housekeeping and Sly a Concierge. They went out of their way to offer assistance.
The rooms are of good standards with cable network if you're an indoor person. There's a bar on the ground floor where the reception is located but if you'd prefer something outdoor then you're covered. Just stroll to the pool side bar that serves grilled fish. Awesome customer service by their polite staffs. I'll highly recommend Transcorp for a peaceful stay in Calabar.
A good suite. Nice interior and exterior decor. Comfortable and cozy environment. With bar services, swimming pool and more. There are halls that can be hired for conferences, seminars and other events. Customer service and other units work well and attend to visitors warmly. I recommend Transcorp Hotels Calabar.
The rooms are spacious and clean. If, like me, you're wary of picking up bedbugs from hotels and this is one of your considerations when choosing where to stay, then the Metropolitan Hotel, Calabar is an excellent option. The bedding was clean and fresh, the mattress seam, bed frame, headboard and furniture, clean and free from bugs. Yes, I took my time to check The hotel has visible security and constant electricity. The bathrooms are clean and fresh towels are provided, for guests who use them. I highly recommend the Metropolitan
The rooms are kept well and tidy. Lodging comes with complimentary buffet breakfast - not much of varieties of dishes. Local dishes are great. There are larges halls for conferences and also meeting rooms. Staff are courteous and great. A few drips from ceiling along the corridors and dining area
Excellent service. Meals taste good but are a bit pricey. The pastry section sells nice and tasty pastries. The staff are courteous.
It's been a wonderful experience at transcorp hotel. The staff are polite and friendly. I enjoyed the Breakfast buffet and the French toast. My only reservation was with the room key cards faulty sensor, as I was locked out of my room twice in 3 days. But all together, it's a cozy, comfortable hotel.
